Porsche 911 GT3 RS prices, by generation

What a GT3 RS is listed for, split by the generation on the car. These are asking prices, not prices cars have sold for.

Published by Hyper Velox

Asking prices were read from Hyper Velox listings at October 30, 2026 at 10:29 AM EDT. They are the seller’s asking price, not a sold price.

Asking prices by generation

A GT3 RS asking price from one generation is a poor guide to another. The table splits the cars Hyper Velox already marks as GT3 RS. 996 covers 996.1 and 996.2 together, and 997 covers 997.1 and 997.2 together, because those older RS cars are a thin list. 991 and 992 stay split, which is where most of the current cars sit.

The GT3 RS list sometimes contains a price that cannot be a real RS, including figures around $16,000. Those are left out before a low, median, or high is published. If a row says “Withheld,” the remaining prices were too far apart to trust a range. Open the GT3 RS listings and read the cars instead of trusting a single minimum.

991.268$133,900$276,998$415,000

992.271$315,195$514,991$749,999

These are asking prices on active Hyper Velox listings, not sold prices and not auction bids. Prices under $5,000 are left out, the same floor the marketplace uses when it sorts by price. In a group of at least 5, a price under one fifth of the figure three quarters of the way up the sorted asks is left out, and that check is repeated. In a group of at least 8, a price under the lower quartile minus one and a half times the gap between the lower and upper quartiles is also left out. That floor never rises above 45 percent of the median, so a wide spread can still include a genuinely cheap car. If either low-price step would remove more than 40 percent of the group, the low, median, and high are withheld instead of published. In a group of at least 8, a price above the higher of $500,000 and 15 times the median is left out, unless that would remove more than 20 percent of the group.

What the table does not separate

Mileage, paint, and options move these cars, and the rows above mix them. Two asking prices in the same generation can be a high-mileage car and a delivery-mileage car. Where both mileage groups have at least five cleaned asking prices, the medians are under the table. Cars with no mileage on the listing are in neither group.

The same rule is used for gearbox. Porsche’s March 3, 2015 newsroom introduction of the 911 GT3 RS describes that car with a PDK transmission and a 4.0-liter engine rated at 500 hp. The August 17, 2022 newsroom story on the 2023 911 GT3 RS describes a 4.0-liter engine rated at 518 hp, a seven-speed PDK, a drag reduction system, and an optional Weissach package. Those are Porsche’s descriptions of the new cars, not a price for a used one. Weissach, Paint to Sample, and a specific color are not columns in our data, so confirm them on the build sheet before you treat two RS cars as the same specification.

Our opinion: the generation tells you which car you are shopping. The listing has to tell you the mileage, the options, and whether the car has been on track. The median will not.

Method and limits

These are asking prices. We are not publishing a sold-price index, and a low ask is not a deal until someone inspects the car. For the wider 911 market, see how much a used 911 costs. Before you buy an RS, use the pre-purchase inspection checklist, and have a specialist look at track use, brakes, and prior paintwork.
